Queen Conch Shell of the Goddess Flora

The Ancient Mystical Goddess Flora is the Roman Goddess of flowering, fruit bearing plants. She has the elements of a Love Goddess with attributes of fertility, sex and blossoming. When wearing the brooch of Flora you are certain to beckon this entity of Spring. In the long hours of winter she reminds us of the fertile ground beneath the snow, awakening Spring and welcoming the first flowers of the season. Here in the Okanagan Valley, Flora's presence is abundant.

This classic, romantic dipiction of Flora reveals her gentle loving nature. Skillfully carved from a natural shell the carver has shown beautiful detail in the folds of her robe and the tendril of hair that escapes her upswept do.

Set in a base metal gold gilded frame the rolled edging bears some simple repeated "V" stamped decoration. The edge at the base of the frame also shows some simple stamped decoration which serves to enhance the presentation of Flora!

CONDITION AND MEASUREMENTS

Flora remains in her original frame but has seen a few soft solder repairs to the back supports which hold her in place.This has resulted in minor discolouration on the frame.

The shell is in beautiful condition, there are no signs of stress.
