Enchanting Victorian Agate Eye BroochThe enchantment of the Victorian agate eye is sure to capture a second glance. It is a simple beauty. The agate is one of the oldest stones in recorded history. Agate attracts strength, it is also known as a protection stone. Eye Agate regained popularity during the Victorian era. It aroused superstition and in times of mourning provided a sense of protection to the weak at heart. The glossy round beads and circular pattern suggests symbolic reference to the natural cycle of life, wholeness and unity; a comforting reminder to a Victorian woman searching for strength in times of loss. CONDITION & MEASUREMENTS This unique Victorian Eye Agate brooch contains 9 agate beads and is set in brass. Two of the outer dangling beads were missing when this peice was discovered and have been replaced. There are a few small dents in the back on the brass settings. The beads are in near mint condition. The brooch measures a width of 1 3/4" and a length of 2 5/8" including the drops. Item # vic7 Cost is $ TBA |
